Join the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities Association and Mexic-Arte Museum on Friday, November 9 from 6-9pm for a special reception and presentation of "50 Years of Friendship and Memories". The book chronicles the past five decades of friendship, respect, and mutual exchange between Sister Cities Austin, Texas and Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. There will be complementary beverages and antojitos.

You will spend 4 nights in Oita, 2 nights in Kyoto and 2 nights in Tokyo. We will be in Oita from October 18, departing October 22 for Kyoto. There will be three Austin musicians performing at Oita’s Yumeiro Music Festival October 20-21 during the same time!
Japan Airlines and Austin Festival Express, and Austin-Oita Sister City Committee - AOSCC Austin Oita Japan present an evening of fantastic music! The project is called Supergroup. Musicians traveling and performing together on their way to international cities. In collaboration with Project ATX6, this effort will help us continue to expand our reach in sharing Austin music with the world.

A Celebration of the 11 Days of Global Unity and the International Day of Peace!

Viva la Vida: Celebrating 35 Years of Mexic-Arte Museum’s Día de los Muertos and Danzas Matlachines: Tesoros y Patrimonio Cultural, Las Tradiciónes Continúan. There will be Antojitos, live music and drinks to enjoy.
Mexic-Arte Museum is pleased to present Danzas Matlachines: Tesoros y Patrimonio Cultural - Las Tradiciónes Continúan (Matlachine Dances: Treasures and Cultural Patrimony - The Traditions Continue), an exhibition examining the Matachine dance traditions from the state of Coahuila in northern Mexico and highlighting the continuing cultural practice in Austin, Texas. The exhibition is organized in conjunction with the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities collaborative relationship that was established in 1968.
Austin Sister Cities is bringing a group of Mexican bilingual story tellers to Austin from Saltillo on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14. We are looking for teachers and students from grade 1 to 12 that are interested in Mexican folk stories, Spanish language and international relations. Story times slots are approximately 30 minutes and can be scheduled for either day between 10am and 5pm. This community program is supported by Austin Sister Cities and Mexic-Arte Museum. There is no cost to participate.
