Austin's Sister City in Southern Africa
The Austin-MASERU Sister City Committee
is providing humanitarian aid for Maseru and educational programs in Austin. The committee also provides hospitality for African students enrolled in Austin educational institutions. Austin and Maseru have been Sister Cities since 1978.

ABOUT Maseru
Maseru is the capital of Lesotho, a country surrounded by South Africa. Lesotho, nicknamed the "Switzerland of Africa" due to its mountains, is home to Africa's largest hydroelectric project.
