Atlas Maior - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri__gol3nu8&t=17s
Fresh off several international tour dates to China, Spain and Austin's sister city of Angers, France, Atlas Maior maps diverse musical traditions, placing Jazz, Middle Eastern, and Latin American musical idioms in dialogue with one another. The group composes music that pays homage to the stewards of these traditions and their cultural and geographic origins. Band members Joshua Thomson (alto saxophone, flutes), Charlie Lockwood (oud), and Ted Camat (percussion) create a unique sound that balances intimate moments of sincerity with powerful melodies and incendiary rhythmic passages. Thomson and Lockwood write original melodies exploring maqamat (the Middle Eastern modal system) and harmonic progressions of American jazz. Percussionist Ted Camat applies a wide variety of rhythms and traditional percussion instruments including the Middle Eastern dumbek, Peruvian cajón, and Brazilian pandero.

Based in Austin's sister city of Angers, France, songwriter Sébastien Chevillard of Cherry Plum bridges French and American songwriting and lyricism to produce etherial, honest and true songwriting -- at this performance he'll be collaborating with Austin musicians to bring a full-band performance to Stay Gold!
Corps Multiple is a multidisciplinary collaboration between 2 French artists: Sandie Donzica (dancer and choreographer) and Francois Minaux (flutist and composer). They create researched experimental scenic improvisations, based on intimate experiences from people around them, as well as human psychology and behavior. They strive to develop artistic evenings crossing genres and disciplines to produce eclectic, spontaneous and intriguing contemporary works in order to touch the senses, emotions and thoughts of the audience.
