Wez Atlas is a hip-hop artist based in Tokyo, Japan. Switching between his two native languages English and Japanese, Atlas laments his everyday struggles over melodious hooks and potent lyrics. “Overthink” is a crowd favorite, for its relatable one-liners about the complexities of the mind. It amassed over a million plays across streaming platforms. The song is a part of his first mini-album “Chicken Soup For One”, released in July 2021. The vulnerability that Atlas shows in his lyrics sets him apart from the typical braggadocious rapper, and conveys a sense of transparency in his music. Atlas also garnered attention with “Zuum!”, a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer starRo. The song was featured on Spotify’s “Tokyo Super Hits”, and landed the duo on the cover of “Next Up”. Aside from his solo works, Atlas is an active member of Solgasa, an artist collective that aims to create a “borderless musical experience”. The collective hit the ground running in 2022 with their first release “Too Good To Be True” earning them a place on the cover of Spotify playlist “Soul Music Japan.”
