The Urban AI Innovation Challenge 2026 is a multi-city global competition designed to inspire
innovators to use artificial intelligence to solve overlooked urban challenges — from housing
and mobility to culture and community connection. Hosted in collaboration with Austin Sister
Cities International, the Austin AI Alliance, IEEE, and other partners, the Challenge will bring
together 5–15 sister cities of Austin, Texas. Each city will host a local finale event where the top
five finalist teams present their AI-driven solutions to a panel of judges. One winning team per
city will be selected.
